Report: Mercedes-Benz A-Class to have multiple body styles for next generation

Mercedes-Benz is known for many things, one being a creator for almost every niche market that never existed. And the plan just doesn’t seem to want to end as Germany’s AutoBild heard the Three-Point Star wants to produce a sedan, c0upe, roadster, shooting brake and crossover of the A-Class for the next generation. We currently have the A-Class sedan and crossover in the form of the GLA, but for the next generation, Benz wants to unify the lineup under one name and with all of the aforementioned body styles.

Set for a revealing in 2018, the next A-Class begins with a five-door hatchback, followed by a new version of the sedan. In 2019, an A-Class coupe is scheduled, along with a roadster and a shooting brake style just to add variety to the mix. Though similarly to the CLS Shooting Brake, the A-Class version could only be meant for the European market.
