Report: Cadillac rumored to be working on new convertible
It’s been a few years since Cadillac produced a convertible–last known as the XLR. Terribly overpriced, it was a slow seller and Cadillac has yet to follow up with a new drop top. That’s a bit of a pity when you consider that Cadillac used to be a manufacturer of some of the most luxurious and iconic convertibles in the world.
Now, according to Automobile Magazine, Caddy may follow up with a successor to the aforementioned XLR, after speaking with the chief of engineering, Dave Leone. Should all hold to be true, the new convertible would most likely get its platform from the incoming Alpha setup, destined for the new flagship sedan and a provider for the existing ATS and CTS.
Stylistically, inspiration is sourced from the gorgeous Elmiraj Concept from not too long ago. Though, not much else is known.
