Report: Volvo may consider V40 and XC60 Polestar versions

Fans of the Swede might be interested to hear that Polestar’s reach could extend further than the S60 and V60 models asĀ AutoCar reports the firm has interest in producing V40 and XC60 models as well.

Initially, Volvo was interested in producing a V40 Polestar, though Volvo’s powertrain and motorsports head, Derek Crabb, denied such claims. He followed up by commenting that Polestar variants are also dependent on market demand, which varied by region.

It does leave much to be desired from fans of Volvo and Polestar since nobody still know what this means and whether or not Polestar could give their treatment to new models. Though Crabb did say, whatever the new Polestar model will be, it’ll get no less than the brand’s current and potent turbocharged 3.0L inline-six currently serving duty in today’s S60 and V60 Polestar. There also is a possibility of a new four-cylinder engine with enough power to match the outgoing six.
