The Lincoln Navigator is apparently due for a completely replacement, despite the fact that it was redesigned and heavily refreshed for the 2015 model year.

In a recent report from AutomotiveNews, the biggest change is the adaptation of a body made entirely of aluminum, following in the footsteps of the latest 2015 Ford F150. The new aluminum Navigator rides on a similar integrated body-on-frame chassis, allowing for an easier integration of a newer body. That said, the new Navi is also currently in the middle of being developed for the 2016 year as a 2017 model.

For 2015 however, the Navigator received a significant visual makeover while Ford’s classic 5.4L V8 was dropped in favor of their latest 3.5L EcoBoost V6.
