Bentley is causing a stir with its highly-anticipated luxury crossover and the new model promises to be the fastest, most powerful and most luxurious SUV crossover on the market. That’s definitely a possibility, considering the crossover is expected to get the Continental GT’s potent twin-turbo W12 mill, according to Bentley’s sales and marketing director, Kevin Rose.
That said, at a performance standpoint, the new Bentley SUV will rival the likes of the BMW X5 and X6 M, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, and the Range Rover Sport SVR, despite costing quite a bit more than all of those.
Rose also hinted to CARandDRIVER that a plug-in hybrid variant is said to be the best selling model–so far, 30 percent of potential buyers are interested in an eco-friendly model. In addition to the plug-in hybrid version, a twin-turbo V8 Bentley crossover is expected, most likely getting its mill from the Continental GT V8, as well as a more powerful version of Audi’s 4.2L V8 TDI engine.
