Report: Mercedes-Benz C-Class Plug-In Hybrid could return 117.6 mpg

Word in the pipeline via Motoring.com down yonder in Australia reports that Mercedes-Benz’s new C-Class plug-in hybrid could return up to 117.6 mph on the US cycle, according to recent testing figures.

After speaking with Mercedes’ head of development for the new C-Class Estate, Ralf Rossmanith said that some pretty significant figures were observed during researching and development. Additionally, the test mules are capable up to 18.6 miles on electric-only range.

Specifics are still being kept confidential, though rumors point to a 206hp turbocharged 2.0L four with a 63 hp electric motor mated to a lithium-ion battery.
