Report: Aston Martin abandons Lagonda SUV project…?

Aston Martin has reportedly scrapped its plans for a Lagonda-named SUV, according to a new report from PistonHeads.

After hearing from Aston’s Director of Design, Marek Reichman, some statements indicated Aston’s lost interest in the venture.

“We still have plans for the brand. There might be some surprises in the marque’s re-establishment into the market place, but as a very unique coachbuilt experience. And that’s probably what’s most befitting of the brand,” Reichman told PistonHeads, referring to the Lagonda SUV concept from 2009, mentioning it was a much different time with different plans and aspirations.

Aston Martin however is rumored to still be using the Lagonda name for a revival and successor to the original Lagonda sedan from the 1970s and 1980s, and that could act as a replacement for the aging but gorgeous Rapide.
