Report: Cadillac considering variants of Escalade, including Vsport model

It seems like the full-size body-on-frame SUV is becoming as extinct as dinosaurs, but General Motors insists on keeping them alive in the form of the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade.

And to keep customers interested, Cadillac is reportedly considering variants to the Escalade, which include a Vsport version, similar to how Cadillac offers such a version for the CTS sedan.

What could this mean is that the Escalade may gain the same engine as said CTS Vsport, the brand’s first-ever twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6. This seems reasonable since the Escalade’s rival, the Lincoln Navigator, ditched its thirsty V8 for a minimally less-thirsty 3.5L EcoBooost V6 from the F150. However, this is just speculation at this point.

But thus far, our question is, what exactly is “Vsporty” about a three-ton SUV?
