Report: Will this be the first and last Hyundai Veloster?

Australia’s GoAuto may have heard through the grapevine that this could be the first and last generation of Hyundai Veloster due to sluggish sales of the hatchback.

According to the report, Hyundai has only managed to sell around 60,000 units total of the hatchback around the world and that’s not enough to justify a successor. More than half of those were sold in the US and Canada but sales saw a stark decline in 2013.

The Veloster is due for a mid-cycle refresh but an “unnamed Hyundai executive” said the vehicle’s future is currently undecided after the first generation.
