Report: Tesla’s new entry-level sedan to share little with current Model S

Tesla has been known to be in the works with several new models to expand its current portfolio. In addition to their highly-anticipated EV crossover, a BMW 3-Series fighter is also in the works.

According to a new report fromĀ AutoCar, the new Tesla entry-level sedan will share little in common with the current Model S, including the Model X. It will get its own bespoke platform instead of utilizing the Model S or Model X’s aluminum unibody.

Cost cutting has been a rising concern for the entry level car, but Tesla’s Chris Porritt said that the new sedan will be priced “realistically” against the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the Audi A4.
