Report: Porsche preparing a Cayman GT4 with 450hp

CAR Magazine in the UK learned that Porsche will be serving up a twin-turbocharged 3.8L boxer-six good for around 450hp. Several spy photos in the past have confirmed that a potent high-performance Cayman is certainly on the way.

The plan is apparently to have this model as the range-topping Cayman, which will most likely blow a fair-amount of current model 911s out of the water. It will also don the name, Cayman GT4.

The mill is said to be lifted straight from the 911 Turbo and to make up for the extra oomph, you can expect a larger rear spoiler to help increase downforce to assist in putting that power down at speed, larger vents for cooling of the uprated brakes, unique alloy wheels, more aggressive body work, and more.

It’s set to come out later this year as Porsche seeks to elongate the model’s lifespan.
