AutoExpress in the UK reports that Bentley’s CEO, Wolfgang Durheimer, confirmed that the British luxury automaker will be showcasing a more powerful Mulsanne at this year’s annual car exposition in Paris.

The new model will follow in the path of the Continental GT3-R’s theme of “sporting luxury” and is expected to don at least 550hp under the hood from the traditional 6.75L twin-turbocharged V8, up fromt he standard model’s 505bhp rating. A 0-62 time of less than five seconds is expected for the leviathan while the current model needs a not-so-shabby 5.3 seconds to do so.

Let’s not forget that the Mulsanne tips the scales of well over 5,700lbs, so expect some weight reduction off of that figure. Also expect a limited production run and chassis and suspension tweaks.
