Lego reveals an expert level Mini Cooper, due in August

Automotive enthusiasm and Legos tend to go hand-in-hand and this latest example is proof: the company recently announced to be launching a new kit that results in a scaled model of the classic Mini Cooper.

It will go on-sale later in August, not only to spike interest of Mini lovers around the world, but lovers of the connecting blocks–many of which allow us to connect to our days of childhood play. But Legos aren’t just for kids, considering the creation of complex kits like these. Not too long ago, Lego released an awesome kit for the Volkswagen Bus.

It consists of a grand total of 1,077 pieces and when finished, it resembles a classic Mini Cooper complete with racing stripes, a British Racing Green body, a white roof and mirror caps. All three of the doors open to reveal a detailed interior, including a functioning steering wheel, gearshift, and handbrake. There’s even an accompanying spare tire and picnic set.
