Report: BMW M5 30th Anniversary Edition leaked
BMW is apparently preparing a special 30th anniversary edition M5 to celebrate 30 years of BMW M5. In 1984, the M5 was revealed for the 1985 production year, donning the chassis number, E28. It was then that a legacy of the world’s best midsize luxury sports sedan was born, hence the celebration.
The BMW M5 30th Anniversary Edition comes with a Frozen Dark Silver Metallic exterior, dark chrome accenting around the windows, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Interior upgrades are also included in the form of Merino leather and Alcantara seats and steering wheel. Expect lots and lots of 30th Anniversary Badges as well.
The 4.4L TwinPower Turbo V8 is still good for nearly 600hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, which is up 14 lb-ft from the standard M5. The 30th Anniversary Edition will apparently only come with the M DCT Dual Clutch Transmission with seven forward gears for a 0-62 time of 4.4 seconds.
It will be revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed while other reports suggest the M Festival next month.
