Report: Lexus may be working on a new seven-seat crossover

AutomotiveNews reports that Lexus is working on their own seven-seat crossover as the Germans have reportedly been fueling the growth of the full-size crossover segment by introducing their own. For example, BMW is rumored to be working on a 7-Series-based X7 while Audi is looking to build a Q8 crossover that will sit above the Q7.

Details are sparse in the report, but hints point to a car that’s essentially an extended version of the RX with a third-row of seating available at the far back.

Should it go into production, the model may apparently be called the TX and will ride on a front-wheel drive platform from the Toyota Camry or a rear- and all-wheel drive backbone from the Lexus IS and GS.
