LeMans Prototype goes drifting in the Snow [VIDEO]

I’m not sure this sort of filmed missive requires any sort of explanation, but here goes. Freeskier Jon Olsson elected to take his 2,200-lb Rebellion R2K LeMans prototype that he will be racing in the Gumball 3000 this year up a snowy hill. With 600 horsepower 315mm wide snow tires and rear wheel drive, and $700,000 worth of car, Olson makes quick work of the circuit.

Has Olsson invented a new sport here? Maybe not. He was the first to drive through what looks like a wide ski trail that was actively being groomed. It’s a bit tricky to believe that the track would be of much use to the LMP class after several laps, though this could be sort of cool if they took GT class cars, lifted them and fitted them will AWD, but then again that would be a bit similar to the WRC. In any case, do watch the short clip and become jealous.
