Report: Track-focused McLaren 650S in the works

As if the existing car weren’t good enough, the folks in Woking are working on something lighter, fleeter, and faster than the existing supercar. According to McLaren, only 12% of 650S owners use their cars on the track, so the production numbers for this track only limited edition will not likely be too high. As McLaren’s chief test driver, Chris Goodwin, put it, “there’s plenty more we can do” when speaking of further development on the 650S.

Currently, the car is fitted with a 3.8 liter twin turbo V6 chucking out 650 horsepower and 500 ft-lbs of torque, plugged into seven speed dual clutch automated manual transmission. Even the current car is good for a 3-second flight from 0-60 and will top out at 207 mph. Given the creature comforts of the current car, don’t be surprised if these Brits charge much, much more for less. We don’t know any more than that right now, but when we do, we will fill you in.
