Report: Volkswagen’s T-Roc Concept might hit production

Volkswagen may actually proceed with producing the recent T-Roc Concept from the Geneva Auto Show, according to a report from AutomotiveNews.

Volkswagen’s CEO, Martin Winterkorn, recently said that outlook for a production T-Roc is optimistic. Should it be produced, it will be based on the same platform as the Golf and will essentially be a Golf with more ground clearance and versatility–kind of like the Subaru Outback, and Audi’s own allroad.

That platform is the MQB platform with the T-Roc Concept sporting a 2.0L TDI four-banger good for 184hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. 0-62 happens in 6.9 seconds for a top speed of 130 mph.
