Report: Mercedes-Benz to eventually offer an S-Class EV
Top Gear reportedly learned that Mercedes-Benz will eventually add an S-Class EV to the portfolio at some point.
After speaking with Dr. Uwe Ernstberger, the doc confirmed that ” a complete electric car will be done in the future.” However, the model was described to be quite a ways away.
“We have to work on the capacities of the batteries to get a better package in the car because you do not want to lose all the comfort features of an S-Class for transporting a battery only,” he commented.
Ernstberger also said the S-Class is an ideal candidate for the advancement in autonomous driving technology, but the company is debating how far they want to push the technology in the short term.
