Confirmed: BMW X4 will debut at Geneva

Through a brief and hazy video on their Instagram account, BMW has confirmed that they will be daylighting their shrunken X6 lifted four door coupe that somehow necessary despite the presence of the similarly sized X1, X3, 3 series wagon, 3 series Gran Turismo and 4 Series Gran Coupe. There may be a great reason for this practice, and perhaps after the X4 comes out, it will become apparent.

Likely powered by the same engines offered in the current 3 and 4 series sedans, coupes, wagons, and nemi crossovers, the X4 may have the option of the following: the N20 2 liter four with a high pressure twin scroll turbo putting out 240 horsepower and 255 ft-lbs of torque or the N55 3 liter six with a lower pressure twin scroll turbo putting out 300 horsepower and 300 ft lbs of torque. On the standard sedans, this translates to a 0-60 time of 5.7s and 5.4s, respectively, with a top speed of 130mph for both. For the short teaser clip, click here.
