Report: 2015 Audi A5 to have evolutionary design plus less weight
The Audi A5 has been with us since 2007 and seven years later, it is due for a makeover in the form of a complete redesign. This is under the presumption and average car generation lifespan of around six to eight years. As a result, CARandDRIVER reports that the new 2016 Audi A5 will have an evolutionary design and will be more fluidic and “sexier.”
According to the report, the exterior will feature sportier styling cues with the usual use of LED daytime-runners. The interior will be more futuristic versus the current model’s rather conservative interior appointments and designs. A new heads-up display is also expected to be showcased.
In addition to the visual redesign, the new 2016 Audi A5 is said to go on a diet with a reduction figure hovering around 200 lbs lighter than the current model. Engines and drivetrain specifics weren’t shared, though we can expect the usual mixture of gasoline and diesel four- and six- cylinder engines with the top dog RS5 receiving the brand’s only V8. Sales are expected to begin in 2015 with a debut later this year.
