Report: Aston Martin recalling most of its cars made since 2007

Reuters reports that Aston Martin is recalling almost 18,000 vehicles over counterfeit plastic parts from a Chiense sub-supplier. According to the report’s statistics, that’s more than 75 percent of Aston’s total car production output.

All left-hand drive Astons made from Nocember 2007 and all right-hand models from May 2012 have been recalled, except for the Vanquish.

The issue has to do with plastic accelerator pedal arms, which have been found to be made from bad plastic and could fracture, leading to a crash. Though no accidents or injuries have been reported.
