Report: Porsche-fighting McLaren P13 to cost £120,000 and other details

McLaren might be busy churning out multimillion dollar hypercars, but it doesn’t mean that they are only interested in that industry. According to a new report, the new high end Porsche/Ferrari fighting supercar will cost £120,000 when it rolls off the very meticulous assembly line. Fitting in below the 12C, the P13 has the Porsche 911 in its crosshairs; a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 will likely be fitted and will put out 450-500 horsepower for what will likely be a sub 3,000 pound car.

Backers of this project have put up $800 million, which, when all is said and done will be made in numbers of 2,500 per year; total output by McLaren will likely top 4000 cars per year including variations of the P13 such as a convertible version, coupe, and stripped-out track day version. The engine and chassis from the new P13 are said to be part of the blueprint for a future version of the 12C, aimed at track performance. The P13 will likely be revealed at this March’s Geneva Motor Show.
