2014 NAIAS: The 2015 Ford Mustang gets showtime on home turf in Detroit

Ford showcased the all-new 2015 Mustang today on the floor of the Cobo Center in the heart of Detroit today.

As a refresher, the 2015 Ford Mustang gets some serious changes. Other than the new body and look, for the first time ever in history, the Mustang receives a fully-independent rear suspension setup versus the traditional and terribly outdated live rear axle.

Additionally, a new EcoBoost four-banger was added to the engine selection as the entry-level option making it the first four-cylinder Mustang since the “Fox Body” generation of the 1980s. That engine is a 2.3L unit good for 305hp and 300 lb-ft of twist. The previous Mustang’s naturally-aspirated 3.7L Duratec V6 and 5.0L Coyote V8 carry over virtually unchanged.
