Report: GM’s Mark Reuss downplays sedans, says a production Elmiraj is what Cadillac needs

Cadillac set some really high expectations for themselves with the release of the stunning Elmiraj Concept, which is apparently on the table for consideration as a flagship coupe. And according to a recent interview with USAToday, GM’s North American President, Mark Reuss, not only expressed interest in producing the coupe, but went on to say that sedans don’t make a statement.

“You make a statement with a coupe. You don’t make a statement with a sedan,” said Reuss. He also remarked that the Elmiraj is the model that Cadillac needs to move forward.

The Elmiraj Concept was revealed at Pebble Beach and has since captivated many with its beautiful look and promising premise. It’s currently powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.5L V8 good for 500hp and 500 lb-ft of torque.

Cadillac, can you just make it already?
