Report: Current Rolls-Royce Phantom to stick with us until 2020

LeftLaneNews reports that Roll-Royce could be hanging on to their current generation Phantom until 2020 due to high and unique demand. The Phantom has been around with us for 10 years now, since 2003. It was recently given a refresh with the Series II, including style updates, new electronics, and ZF’s new eight-speed automatic.

According to the report, Richard Carter, Direct of Rolls-Royce Global Communications, stated that the Phantom has a planned 17-year lifecycle.

The next-generation Phantom is expected to ride on the next generation BMW 7-Series platform, much like the current model’s use of a BMW chassis.
