Mini just revealed the completely new Cooper today ahead of its worldly debut at this year’s Los Angeles International Auto Show. Built on BMW’s latest UKL modular compact platform, the new Mini moves the entire brand into the new generation of automobiles.
The overall size of the mini has been increased all around in addition to the obvious visual changes. Overall length has been increased by four inches, with 1.1 inches of those four added to the wheelbase. So that of course also translates into more interior space and better practicality.
The Mini Cooper will come with a range of completely new engines, including BMW’s new 136hp three-cylinder turbo gas and 116hp diesel motors. Also in the mix is the Cooper S’s four-banger, good for 192hp. Those three engines will be the debuting mills for the new model.
For the press release, check it out after the jump.
