Report: Chevrolet could offer more powerful, high performance variant to SS sedan

Chevrolet is already on the brink of launching their highly-anticipated SS sports sedan. But before they could even begin selling, word is that Chevrolet could produce an even more potent high performance version of the SS, if the demand is there.

As of now, the Chevrolet SS sedan comes with a 6.2L 415hp V8 mated to only a six-speed automatic.

Production is limited to 3,000 units per year. Though after speaking with Chevrolet’s John Fitzpatrick, the brand’s high-performance marketing chief, high demand could spawn a 455hp or 580hp version, with the help of Australia’s HSV division.

Now that would be epic…but a manual transmission is a must.
