Toyota GT-86 Concept due at Dubai Auto Show

Toyota will be showcasing a GT-86 sedan at this year’s Dubai International Auto Show, according to a new and supposed photo leak on their Facebook page.

The Japanese automaker notably struggled with which direction to take their highly successful GT-86 sports car. Initially, there was the idea of a convertible. Though, that project was cancelled to make way for this potential sedan variant. As a result, this is the first physical rendition of this idea.

An enlarged wheelbase is expected, by almost four inches to be exact. This would allow for the two-extra doors and more legroom. The standard coupe’s 2.0L 200hp flat-four with 151 lb-ft of torque is expected to find its way under the hood.

Toyota might even slot a production version of the Yaris Hybrid-R Concept’s F1-style KERS hybrid system. This could boost power to 268hp while making the sedan 15% more fuel efficient than the normal gas-powered version.

The final production version is expected to launch in March of 2014 with an introduction at Geneva that year.
