Kia confirms North American introduction of the K900

Kia kindly reminded us that their flagship sedan showing up at Los Angeles this year for the North American, to prep for a launch on our turf.

Sales will begin next year with the choice of a V6 or V8 engine—most likely lifted from Hyundai’s current family.

The K900 originated as the K9 in South Korea’s home market and the Quoris in the Middle Eastern and Chinese markets. It’s propelled by Hyundai’s current Lambda-II GDI direct-injected V6 good for 3.3L of displacement and 296hp or 3.8L and 329hp.

The V8 is most likely to be Hyundai’s latest Tau V8, currently found in the Equus and the Genesis sedan.

IRVINE, Calif., October 28, 2013 – Kia Motors America will take value to new levels of sophistication next month with the unveiling of a rear wheel drive flagship sedan at the Los Angeles auto show.  The all-new K900 is scheduled to go on sale next year and be available with either a V6 or V8 engine.
