Report: McLaren preparing an entry level 911 fighter, to be called the P13

McLaren is rumored to be producing a new entry-level supercar, aimed directly at the Porsche 911 and inspired by the top dog P1 super hybrid.

According to a new report from AutoExpressUK, the new model is called the P13 and will serve up 450hp. It will be mid-engined and will cost around £120,000 or $192,840 USD at today’s exchange rate.

The P13 will be based around the same carbon fiber unibody as the MP4-12C and the P1, though a shorter wheelbase and smaller proportions are obviously expected. The car is in the depths of research and development and a launch “won’t be too far away.”

The engine is most likely to be a detuned version of the firms common 3.8L turbocharged V8, good for 450hp.
