Report: Next Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG to have 485-500hp

Mercedes-Benz AMG’s CEO, Tobias Moers, has shared with Australia’s Motoring.com some detail about the next generation C-Class AMG sports car.

According to the brief talk, Moers said that we should expect the next generation C63 AMG to be turbocharged, as the industry has pushed towards forced induction to increase fuel economy.

“The time is over for naturally-aspirated engines,” Moers said. “If you look for fuel-efficiency and power output and torque output and you have to combine all the targets, the result is clear what you have to do for the future.”

That said, we could expect a completely new engine, which could be based off of the new 2.0L four-banger in the A45 and CLA45 AMG. Output could range from 485-500hp.
