Report: Ford’s new 2014 Edge to debut at Los Angeles, will be sold in EU for the first time

AutoCarUK reports that Ford is one of the automakers to be bringing a world debut at this year’s Los Angeles auto show next month. Hints so far indicate the introduction of Ford’s updated Edge crossover SUV, which will be sent abroad for the 2014 model year.

The current generation Ford Edge was first revealed for the 2007 model year and has since underwent a mid-cycle refresh in 2011. The new 2014 model should be an all-new second generation.

The Ford Edge will be sold in the European market for the first time under Ford’s recent globalization strategy, “One Ford.” And according to Ford’s sales and marketing head honcho, Jim Farley, Ford of Europe sees their crossover market expanding and as a “unique opportunity for Ford.”

Europe isn’t “abroad” as the EDGE is and has been available in the Middle East for quite some time
