Report: Volkswagen mulling budget-conscious brand for basic buyers
Volkswagen is looking to fulfill its mission as being the “People’s Car” even more by offering a budget-conscious range of cars, according to VW’s new R&D chaptain, Hans-Jakob Neusser.
According to a new report from AutoCarUK, Volkswagen wants to expand its offerings much in the same way Renault has expanded its Dacia brand, offering the most basic forms of four-wheels, seats, and a motor.
To make this happen, VW could find a joint-venture partner, which could end up being a small China-based automaker.
