Report: Jaguar-Land Rover to open new research and development center

AutomotiveNew of Europe has learned that Jaguar-Land Rover is investing into a new research and develop center in Coventry, which will help the British luxury auto conglomerate compete against the leading premium brands from Germany and Japan.

Set to open in 2016, the new facility will specialize in the research of engine and propulsion technologies, including hybrid and electric systems, autonomous vehicles, on- and off-road handling, and design.

Jaguar-Land Rover will be investing around 50 million pounds into the new facility with a strong chance of adding around several hundred more jobs. Additionally, Jaguar-Land Rover seeks to build a relationship with the new National Automotive Innovation Campus at Warwick Unicersity, in Conventry,UK.
