Report: Jaguar themselves even call the X-Type a mistake as a BMW 3-Series-fighter raises attention

Jaguar’s X-Type was a tough sell with a new report saying that even the automaker themselves dismiss the model, calling it a mistake. In addition to receiving mixed and negative press reception, Jaguar has struggled with the model ever since.

Now, Jaguar is on the road at reattempting an entry level sports sedan that will combat the BMW 3-Series, Lexus IS, Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and newly introduced Cadillac ATS. The Jaguar X-Type struggled terribly due to its front-wheel drive and Ford Modeo underpinnings.

Now, Jaguar is serious about creating a BMW 3-Series competitor, with a new rear-wheel drive all-aluminum platform.
