AutomotiveNews reports that Infiniti’s FX sports crossover will be improving its interior room for the next generation in addition to continuing the ”QX70” moniker amidst the brand’s nomenclature restructuring. Due sometime in either 2015 or early 2016, the next generation FX seeks to make up for lost sales of the current generation.
“The FX has been the icon of Infiniti,” Shiro Nakmura told AN, Nissan’s global design chief. “Exterior and styling-wise, it’s very strong as an icon. But to be honest, its sale volume has not been as big as we wanted.”
Though on the flipside, Nakamura also said that the FX is actually selling quite well in other markets like Russia and China. So they are going to preserve as much of the current FX’s striking character for the new model.
