Report: Tesla to produce all-wheel drive Model S by next year…?

A new report is out via TheVerge, which says that Tesla is, well, on the verge of introducing an all-wheel drive version of its very hot Model S all-electric luxury sport sedan. After speaking with “sources,” it could apparently be launched as early as 2014 as a more expensive model. But more importantly, because it will be a more expensive model, it will apparently be as fast, if not faster, than the regular two-wheel drive Tesla Model S.

Bolstering this possibility is the fact that Tesla is already in the works with an all-wheel drive Model X SUV. Additionally, Tesla’s Elon Musk has been noted to mention an all-wheel drive chassis due for the market sometime in 2014-2015.

Though, Tesla declined to comment for TheVerge’s report.
