Report: Next generation Chevrolet Cruze delayed by one year

Reuters reports that General Motors is having a lot of success with the latest compact from Chevrolet, the Cruze sedan. They’re having so much success in fact, that Chevrolet is apparently looking to squeeze as much volume out of this generation as possible by delaying the next generation by a year.

Originally, production for the next version of of the Cruze was set to begin in late 2014. Now, the new date is set in December of 2015.

That said, this also gives General Motors some time to focus more effort on research and development of the next vehicle, which they lightly described to be bigger, redesigned inside and out, and offer improved fuel economy.
