Report: Updated Audi R8 GT to be unveiled at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hour, Spyder and Plus to come in 2014

AutoCarUK reports that Audi will be revealing their anticipated R8 GT at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, which is essentially a tuned version of the R8 V10.

Under the mid-mounted hood is the pre-facelift Audi R8 GT’s 5.2L V10 mated to a standard six-speed manual cog swapper, driving the rear-wheels only. All-wheel drive will be offered, though only with Audi’s latest seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. The latter is said to sprint from 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and onto a top sprint of 199 mph.

Visual updates, which will also aid in improving aerodynamics, will include a more pronounced front splitter on the lower front fascia, larger side air ducts, and a bigger rear spoiler for more downforce. Expect some unique badging as well, though don’t count on those adding any extra horsepower.

A Plus and Spyder version will also follow in 2014.
