Video: Porsche to race vintage ’65 911 racecar in The Masters Series FIA motorsports league to celebrate 50 years of the 911

Porsche has been having a grand year as the famous German prancing horse has been celebrating its 50th anniversary for their most iconic car: the Porsche 911 sports coupe. And to just exhibit one of the many festivities that will showcase the brand’s current spotlight, Porsche officially released a teaser video of a new project, whose sole purpose is to celebrate the Porsche 911’s involvement in motorsports history—which is a very big roster.

Porsche dubbed the campaign Project 50, where an original 1965 Porsche 911 short-wheelbase racecar will participate in The Master Series, a league specially dedicated to vintage auto racing.

And while these leagues offer an amazing spectacle of vintage museum pieces, The Master Series isn’t just all show and no go as the FIA officially sanctioned the series while separating it into five seriously competitive classes.
