While McLaren is still in the process of wowing the world with its all-new F1-successor known as the McLaren P1, the small supercar maker’s sales and marketing boss, Greg Levine, already confirmed with AutoCarUK that a P1 successor is on the way.

However, Levine said that the successor won’t happen for “at least 10 years,” additionally stating that “The only way a car like the P1 works is by being exclusive and having a short product cycle. After that, you have to step back from the market for a few years. These sort of launches can only happen every ten years or so.”

So far, AutoCarUK also learned that nearly ¾ of McLaren’s P1s that have already been put on order have been fully customized for the buyers who eagerly await their physical bragging rights.

“We’ve had 30 or so cars full specced by the customers so far, and the desire to make each car more individual has been noticeable,” said Paul MacKenzie, McLaren’s head of McLaren Special Operations. “Based on experience we expect that figure to come down, but what’s significant is that people want their cars to look different.”
