Subaru to unveil their first hybrid production model alongside new performance concept at NY

Subaru briefly announced that they’re prepping for this year’s New York Auto Show, which is just around the corner. Then, the Japanese make has said they’ll be introducing their first ever production hybrid model based on the current Subaru XV Crosstek crossover. Additionally, they also said to be unveiling a new performance concept car.

Subaru’s new hybrid was described to be engineered in house, complete with the brand’s patented Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Though, not much else was spared, to help build anticipation for the actual debut in New York.

SUBARU TO INTRODUCE FIRST-EVER PRODUCTION HYBRID MODEL AND NEW PERFORMANCE CONCEPT CAR AT 2013 NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW

Cherry Hill, NJ March 20, 2013– Subaru of America, Inc. today announced the brand’s first-ever production hybrid vehicle, the Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid, will debut at the 2013 New York International Auto Show at the Jacob K. Javits Center. Based on the popular XV Crosstrek crossover, the new XV Crosstrek Hybrid model uses a Subaru engineered Hybrid system and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

In addition to the new XV Crosstrek Hybrid, Subaru will also reveal an all-new performance concept car.
