Now that the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has arrived, many of us are left postulating, wondering what the General has up its sleeve in terms of the Stingray’s potential future variants. That of course means the proverbial Z06 and ZR1 model successors as well.

That said, MotorTrend reports that the next generation Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z06 will continue donning a naturally aspirated 7.0L V8, but with more power in its reserves. The outgoing Z06 currently produces around 505hp. Though MotorTrend is confident through their sources that the next version could see nearly 600hp.

As for the ZR1, MotorTrend reportedly learned that the motor for the range topper would be based off of the new LT1 V8 found in the new Stingray. That engine could potentially produce well in excess of 700hp.

Timeframe? MT says we can expect at least a new Z06 at least a year after the new Stingray hits showrooms.
