The TuscaloosaNews  reported that Mercedes-Benz is adding a completely new SUV to their production line at their factory in Alabama by 2015. This news comes after Daimler AG’s CEO, Dieter Zetsche, told Mercedes-Benz’s shareholders in Germany that a fifth SUV model is destined for the plant in the states. Though specifics about the vehicle remain a mystery.

“At our plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, we are currently preparing for the production of another new SUV: an especially dynamic all-terrain vehicle,” Zetsche said at the meeting. “You will hear more about that soon.”

The Vance plant in Tuscaloosa County currently assembles the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, GL-Class, and R-Class. Additionally, the new C-Class will begin production at the Vance plant by 2014.

A little geography lesson, Tuscaloosa is in AL as stated in the article, not TN as stated in the headline. ;-)

    Thanks diesel_vdub.

Honest mistake, I had just read something about Chattanooga, TN, and for some reason in my hectic mind, got them confused.

    Corrected, and thanks!
