Report: Nissan to offer more engine and cab options for 2015 Titan redesign

In bids to try and boost sales in the highly competitive full-size pickup market, Nissan reportedly seeks to expand its options for the redesigned full-size 2015 Nissan Titan.

“Reaching 100,000 is certainly possible,” said Pierre Loing told Edmunds, Nissan USA’s vice president of product and advanced planning and strategy. “We believe there might be a recipe to grab some of this huge segment.”

Sales have been sort of a rough thing for the Titan as it has attempted to put up a fight against the much beloved domestic full-size pickup selection. However, Loing emphasized that Nissan will try again.

Resultantly, Nissan said that they seek to offer more engine choices, rather than just one 5.7L V8 as standard. Though Loing didn’t exactly say what’s on the table.

Additionally, the 2015 Titan will receive an expanded lineup with more cab options.

“It is domestic driven,” Loing said. “High loyalty to domestic products. So the question is, ‘Why bother?’ It is still a huge segment. Whether it is through build quality, equipment, some price advantage, you name it, it may work. We will try again.”
