2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray auctioned off for $1.05 million at Barrett-Jackson

A total of five Chevrolet performance vehicles have raised a total of $2.14 million at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale collector car auctions that ended Sunday. Proceeds benefit the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Habitat for Humanity Detroit, the American Heart Association, the Guy Fieri Foundation for Inspiration and Imagination and the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans.

The first retail production model of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (VIN 0001) raised $1.05 million all by itself. The model was purchased by none other than businessman and NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick.

For those that don’t car what vin number their new ‘Vette carries, the other models will goes on sale later this year.
