Right before its 2013 Detroit Auto Show debut, GM has released a teaser image of the new Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid vehicle. The model was photographed driving through the mountains of Southern California during development testing.

Check out more news on the Cadillac ELR.

“Cadillac customers are going to enjoy the unique features ELR will bring to the market. We’re going to change the way people think about luxury and electrification,” said Chris Thomason, ELR chief engineer.

GM has confirmed that the 2014 Cadillac ELR will be built at the company’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant and will go on sale later this year.

When I first saw this I thought it was a CTS Coupe Update. From the photos it clearly is not.

Kudos to Cadillac for at the very least they are trying.

In some instances they are not so bad to look at

Mind you they will need to considerably up the quality to get anywhere close to Lexus, Infinity, Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar or BMW, let alone try for Bentley or Rolls Royce

At the moment I am driving an 04 XLR and I am really ENJOYING it. So there!
