Gumpert Tornante Concept design submitted to trademark office
At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Gumpert showed up with the Tornante Concept, a model that it built by teaming up with Italian design house and coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. Since then, Gumpert had ended up filing for bankruptcy and failed to find a new owner – however, the company eventually came back to life and has already started building vehicles.
What you’re seeing here are drawings of the Gumpert Tornante that were recently filed with the trademark office Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera.
No word on when we can expect to see the Gumpert Tornante on the roads but we could see it debut during the Europe auto show circuit next year.
Power for the Gumpert Tornante Concept came from a 4.2L V8 engine making 700-hp at 6,500 rpm and 663.7 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine was mated to an automatic TT40e 6-speed gear box with paddle shift controls.
