FoMoCo has decided to take a shot at General Motors new 2014 full-size Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra and plans on offering a peek at the 2015 Ford F-150 at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. GM just released its two new picks yesterday, one of its most crucial launches since its bankruptcy restructuring in 2009.

While GM is touting a complete new redesign, more power and more torque, Ford will be focusing its attentions more on fuel-economy.

According to reports, Ford plans to increase the F-150’s average fuel-economy by 3 mpg, when it implements a $2 billion redesign of its full-size F-series in fall 2014.

The 2015 Ford F-150 “will be a game-changer that will alter the dynamics of the truck segment,” a source said. “They’re shooting for best-in-class fuel economy.”
